Help Haiti

The crisis in Haiti hits close to home.  My amazing mother had been planning to go to Haiti for months, and her trip was scheduled a few days after the earthquake hit.  The hospital she was to stay in crumbled; we are so lucky she was not there.
There is probably no place on earth that was less prepared for such a major disaster than Haiti.  If you can give anything, please do.  Our collective effort can provide some of the much needed relief in a time of desperation.

I have always been a fan of Pyrrha.  The are donating $40 from each sale of this Cherub talisman to Haitian relief efforts.  The french inscription reads "Hope Remains Even in the Storm"

I am old

chloe
i've been flipping through my tear library for a little project I am working on, and thought what a perfect point of inspiration a certain Chloe dress was.  I distinctly remember it being designed under the direction of Stella McCartney, so I went on style.com to look at the entire collection.
What year was that? What? Pheobe Philo took over in 2002?... it seemed like only yesterday Stella left... I had to go back to Spring 2000 to find the dress....has it really been a decade?
I've loved you so long.
I can't find a web image of the dress I am referencing, but you might know what I am talking about by this similar looking top

Live For a Day

Months ago, Lizz posted about Miss Pettigrew lives for a day, a film I managed to never hear about when it was out in theatres.  It finally arrived from netflixs and was really quite charming! As Lizz points out, the set design was awesome, not to mention some pretty costumes, too! Lately, I have really been favoring the vintage look again, with a particular fondness for that Old Hollywood look.
PS don't you just love Frances McDormand?!

Happy New Year!

In the new year, I am looking forward to receiving this Rachel Comey Horticulturalist Jacket along with the other deliveries of the new decade.

It is hard to say what the 2000s were all about (hipsters, Boho chic, Model Off Duty are only a few trends that come to mind), but I loved looking at these images of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who's personal style has definitely evolved over the past ten years.  So many people love(d) to hate them at least at first, but I always thought they were pretty much ahead of the rest, especially Mary Kate.
